|
Willowbrook Country Club, located in the East County of San Diego, has nine semi-challenging holes that most weekend golfers can enjoy. Because there are only nine holes on Willowbrook's golf course, the first nine is a golfers practice to fine-tune their game for the second nine on the same golf holes. The first hole at Willowbrook Country Club is a slight dog-leg left with a slightly tiered green (this is a great hole to start a good, low scoring round). The second hole is a bit more challenging for most golfers with a water hazard to the right and bunker straight down the middle of the fairway. A nice 3-wood down the right side of the fairway will leave you with a tight sand wedge in to a well bunkered green. The 4th hole at Willowbrook is a fun, drivable par 4 that should be a birdie hole for most. Moving on to the first par 5 of the side is the 5th hole. The 5th at Willowbrook plays long because of the on-shore wind. This hole will take you 3 to get home; but should be an easy par. The 8th hole at Willowbrook is a fun par 4 that golfers drive over water with a tree shadowing your tee shot to the right. Don't go right off this hole, it's the "Bermuda Triangle" with trees and leaves in addition to golfers teeing off your way from the 9th green. The 9th hole is a not-so-challenging finishing hole. It's a par 5 that golfers drive with their wind to their back. So, getting home in two is very possible. Make it in two and you have an easy to putt for a birdie. All-in-all, Go Golf San Diego says "Go Golf Willowbrook" for an inexpensive warm-up round. Don't get a prime time tee time as the golf round will take you some time. Get a twilight rate and push through as many holes to work on your golf game. The biggest challenge is the tight fairways, so golfers will get the most practice on their driving. |
