The nines are very distinctive. The front nine almost feels like a desert course as it moves between raised fingers of hard pan and dry scrub brush. Most of the water is on this side of the course, and there are some tight tee shots that can take a bite out of your score. The second nine is all about the "woods"; trees come into play on nearly every hole, and there are some really picturesque holes in the middle of the back nine.

Two of the signature golf holes at Woods Valley are on the back nine: a picturesque 375 yard 12th hole and a 13th 157 yard surrounded by beautiful oak trees.
