Willowbrook Country Club

The 9-hole "Willowbrook" course at the Willowbrook Golf Course facility in Lakeside, California features 5,926 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 68.5 and it has a slope rating of 123. Designed by Jack L. Daray, Sr., ASGCA, the Willowbrook golf course opened in 1955. John Zathas manages the course as the General Manager.

Many of Willowbrook Country Club golf course's holes are guarded by either sand bunkers or water hazards, so shot accuracy is essential. The terrain is flat, and the fairways are tree lined. Hole #5, a 500-yard, par 5, requires three good shots to make the green in regulation. Played twice from two different sets of tees, this course offers a challenge that even the most experienced player will enjoy. This golf course is located within a community of manufactured homes. There are additional tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

The first hole is a short dog leg left that can help golfers get off to a solid start. Coming back around the horse shoe is the fourth hole that is drivable over the water hazard and leaves golfers with a short chip shot in to score a birdie.

Overall, Willowbrook Country Club is a good course to practice your tee shots as the narrow fairways that are tree lined demand straight and long shots.

Willowbrook Country Club Review

Willowbrook Country Club, located in the East County of San Diego, has nine semi-challenging holes that most weekend golfers can enjoy. Because there are only nine holes on Willowbrook's golf course, the first nine is a golfers practice to fine-tune their game for the second nine on the same golf holes.

The first hole at Willowbrook Country Club is a slight dog-leg left with a slightly tiered green (this is a great hole to start a good, low scoring round). The second hole is a bit more challenging for most golfers with a water hazard to the right and bunker straight down the middle of the fairway. A nice 3-wood down the right side of the fairway will leave you with a tight sand wedge in to a well bunkered green. The 4th hole at Willowbrook is a fun, drivable par 4 that should be a birdie hole for most.
